Privacy Policy

What we collect

The contact form. If you write to us, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. Submissions are processed by Netlify, the company that hosts this site, and forwarded to us by email. We keep them so we can reply and follow up.

Nothing else, from anyone who just visits. You can browse the whole site, look up locations and view the map without giving us anything.

Age verification

The site asks for your date of birth before you enter. That date is used in your browser to work out whether you're 21 or older, and is then discarded. It is never sent to us and never stored.

What is stored is a single yes-or-no marker in your browser's local storage, so you aren't asked again on your next visit. It contains no date, no age and nothing identifying. Clearing your browser data removes it.

The store locator

When you search a ZIP code, it is sent to zippopotam.us, a free public service that converts postal codes into map coordinates so we can sort locations by distance. We don't store the ZIP codes people search.

The map itself is drawn using OpenStreetMap. Loading it means your browser requests map images from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address as part of any normal web request. Their policies govern what they do with that.

Hosting and server records

This site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, their servers record standard technical information about requests — IP address, browser type, which pages were requested and when. We use aggregate traffic counts to understand how many people visit. We don't use this to identify individuals.

Some parts of the site load from public code libraries (unpkg and Cloudflare's cdnjs), which is what makes the map work. As with any external resource your browser loads, those services see the request.

Cookies and advertising

We don't set cookies. We don't run advertising pixels, retargeting tags or third-party analytics trackers. We don't sell or share personal information with anyone for advertising.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal telling sites you don't want to be tracked across the web. We don't track visitors across other websites in the first place, so there is nothing for the signal to switch off. We don't respond to it differently because our behaviour is the same either way.

Security and data breaches

We keep what little we hold to a minimum, which is the most effective protection available. Contact form submissions sit with our host and in our email.

No system is perfectly secure. If personal information were ever exposed in a breach, we would notify affected people as required under Michigan's Identity Theft Protection Act and any other law that applied.

Children

This site is intended for people of legal drinking age. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your choices

If you've written to us and want your message and contact details deleted, ask and we'll remove them. If you'd like to know what we hold about you, ask and we'll tell you.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. We'll honour valid requests regardless of where you are.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
